Absurd Circus

Last night I met Liza at Greenbelt 3. We had a nice chitchat over Italian fare -- she had crab pasta and I had 4 cheese pizza (yum!). I always welcome these talks with Liza. She's such a good listener aside from being a talker. I feel that she really understands what I'm saying and I hope she gets that feeling from me too.

We got to talk about my work (usual ups and downs), her lovelife (currently down but I hope will pick up), and each other's families and concerns. With that sorted out by the end of dinner, we went to Onstage to watch a French Spring in Manila show. I thought we were to watch a movie but then we were to see the French "circus" -- in Liza's words, "like the Cirque de Soleil but smaller scale."

Well, circus it was not. It was more like an extended dance and movement piece which was really, should I dare say it? -- nonsensical. Absurd. Only the French --- and like-minded individuals (who fancy themselves French) can truly appreciate the performance last night.

Really, dance pieces move me to sleep.

Anyway, Liza and I are going to another French spring event this Saturday: Fete de La Musique at El Pueblo --- blues bands galore...
