Exhibit Blues

At last, it's all behind me now. The chaos that was yesterday at our exhibit opening last night.

I thought it was too good to be true. Everything was in place and going according to plan. At least that's what I thought when we finished our set-up at the Greenbelt3 in the wee hours of Thursday morning at 1:30 a.m. The delivery and set-up went along smoothly that when I reached Dusit Hotel, where I crashed with Ces and Pam, I even had the time to have a green tea drink and unwind, humming to myself.

The next day, all the good vibrations of the previous night disappeared with a really irritating call from Greenbelt. Our contact told me that the exhibit design did not follow their specifications and that it would have to be changed --- by their engineers. What the...?!

What seemed like a labor of love for the crew who set up the whole thing was just cast aside. If they had a certain design for the exhibit why didn't they say so in the first place and saved us the time and effort to think of a bongga idea to present the exhibit.

It was so annoying that I felt like just getting on with the exhibit ---fast. It was a good thing that Mr. Uesugi was able to voice out his disappointment to Greenbelt. I really don't like the idea that a certain group or individual can just do that without consideration for all the thought and effort put into it.

Such an unpleasant experience.

Well, at least I was able to see my friends (although I wasn't able to talk to them one by one)-- friends from the NCCA, college friends, new friends/ contacts from work... That part, I like.
