Freebies

Thank goodness for freebies! I remember years ago, gazing longingly at the plush interiors of Dome Cafe, and thinking, "sigh, when will i get to eat in there?" Well, that was a long time ago, and I've eaten a couple of times there but now, I am a guest who did not pay and was personally attended by the manager AND the owner, and I get to take home a gift certificate! How groovy is that?!

I ate the adobo flakes sandwich and ordered dalandan juice to go with it. I like the food (walang masamang tinapay...) and the ambience. Although it was really strange to know that Cecile Zamora is also the owner of Dome. Who would have ever thought our paths would cross this way again?

Flashback 10 years ago when I was walking along Shoppesville in Greenhills, coming from class in my cute culottes. Was on my way to PETA play practice when I heard two snooty voices commenting, "akala naman niya ang ganda-ganda niya...pakang-kang nga!" I kid you not. Those were the very words I heard... and when I turned around to see who it was, found that it was the former child-actor-now-druggie-has-been Dranreb Belleza and Cecile Zamora. Wow. Talk about harassment.

So now, I'm just thinking about the irony of it all. How our karma would link up again and how much Cecile Zamora reminds me of Alanis Morissette. Isn't it ironic? hehehehe

Am slowing down alright. Just tying loose ends of my projects and blogging, reading others blogs... and planning for my leave this Friday as I go on vacation to Puerto Galera! Although that isn't all what I should necessarily do (I could use some puttering around my table since I have lots of scratch paper in my in and out trays already), I couldn't help feeling a bit slow and laid back for today.

Yesterday I hoped that I can do a couple of personal things like clean my bedroom and change my sheets, but alas, they've become backward self-fulfilling prophecies. The least that I could do was wash my face... but did I do that? Noooooo...

I've also wanted to list down my reading list for the summer but I haven't gone to listing it all down yet. Oh well. But there are a lot, I know. sigh...
A partial list ---
1. The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene
2. Intimacy by Hanif Kurieshi
3. Portrait in Sepia by Isabel Allende
4. Art & Lies by Jeannette Winterson
5. Tara Road by Maeve Binchy
6. Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

Meanwhile I still have to finish "Scarlet Feather" page 180-something...
