Romulus d'Grayt (The Great)

I've been too busy with work that I was not able to update my blog on my superjampacked week last week!

Too too much anticipation. Of course, I exaggerate a bit... what could I do? Where do I vent my pent-up sense of drama?

Went to watch PETA's preview of "Romulus d'Grayt", a Filipino translation/ adaptation by Jerry Respeto of Freidrich Durenmatt's "Romulus the Great".

As in the press release:

Romulus D’ Grayt is an absurd comedy on the reign of the last emperor of Rome. Romulus, whoinstead of ruling an already crumbling empire andraising an army to defend it from its enemies, is seenraising chickens in his farm.

The verdict: It really is funny! There were a lot of times wherein I have laughed loud and reacted and I rarely do that watching plays. This was the first time I watched a PETA night (usually called "blood bath" in my DUP days) that was already that put together. All the elements were in place: the lighting, set design, costumes, acting... the actors were great! It is a stroke of good judgement to cast all male actors in the role.

<< Me with the chickies!

However, I had to leave just a little while after the second half started but some say it got pretty speechy then. Still, it was a good show. I hope to catch it this week :)

On the side: I was approached by Mai to cover for Noemi's part in Lola Basyang for the December shows. It is a pity that it's such short notice and that I have a lot on my plate at work. Sayang. they must think I have all the time in the world since they see me often in PETA thingies. Is it time to make a disappearing act?

Oh well.
