I want a donut so bad. But I'm trying hard to fight the sweet craving as I've transformed into a barrel. My sugar-deprived self is crying out that it just probably is the clothes making me figure-less. But, I'm so determined to be at least be swimsuit confident, if not bikini ready, by the time we go to Boracay next week.
My gosh. I really want something sweet.
And it's so hot! Grabe. Even inside the office, where I usually have on a sweater or cardigan because it's still chilly, it's chokingly warm. Not as searing outside, but still mainit.
For mommy's birthday yesterday, we went to Tagaytay to beat the heat. Should we be surprised that what greeted us was the sweltering humidity?! We hoped for the refreshing draft of the highlands but well, it was enjoyable even then.
At least we got to spend a day out of town together. Kulang lang si Daddy. First, we went to Viewpoint where we ate sinigang and various inihaws. Yum yum. After that meal, I told myself that I better regulate my diet. (Instead of the very limiting South Beach Diet, I will have carbo before lunch, no carbo before lunch and no meals after six. Let's see if it works out.)
Next stop, we went to the ukay-ukay. I don't know why we went all the way to Tagaytay to go rummaging through old clothes but that's what we did. We racked up something like hundreds there.
We went next to Bag o' Beans, a coffee shop which is as quaint as Sonya's Garden. Despite the heat, I had brewed coffee and panacotta. I should have ordered something cold but coffee and panacotta is just the right combination. My sisters liked the panacotta, they ordered another one.
Last stop was DeLa Salle DasmariƱas to visit Auntie Madre. We had a nice tete-a-tete over mini buko pies and cold water and last thing we knew, we were on our way back to Manila.
Memories of indulgence haunt me as I sit before my computer, desperately needing a sugar fix. I remember the sinful chocolate desert Cecill and I shared last Saturday at Eastwood... Sigh.
Better snap out of it.
